The founder and creator of Trustworthy Expat Services! After spending a year in the Dominican Republic with my family, I am currently back in Canada but excited to return to paradise in the future where my family still resides.

I created a Facebook group called Make Life Happen, Dominican Republic Expats, which now has over 1,500 members. Many of you reading this are probably already a member!
-
I also created a WhatsApp group called Dominican Republic Girl’s Expat Only Group, which has grown to over 170 women and has sparked amazing experiences, conversations, and friendships in the DR.

One of the hardest parts of living in DR for me was not knowing Spanish. I managed, but there was always the constant need to rely on Google Translate. While I still enjoyed the experience, I know it could have been so much richer if I spoke the language.

-
When I left the DR, I enrolled in a Spanish course and quickly noticed gaps in the program. That’s when it clicked for me, why not create something better? I decided to build a program designed specifically for expats in the Dominican Republic, taught by local Dominican teachers who understand the culture, the slang, and the daily realities you'll face. Not only does this make learning Spanish more practical and fun, but it also provides fair-paying opportunities for locals.

Trustworthy Expat Services was born out of that vision: to give expats the tools to thrive, while also giving back to the community we’ve all come to love.

I’ll be starting Spanish classes in January. Learning Spanish has not been easy for me, but I’m embracing it as a No Shame journey and excited to learn alongside of others.
